Athletic Program

PVCICS offers the following athletic teams for middle and high school students.  Parents must complete the required forms below for their child to
participate.  For more information, please contact info@pvcics.org or mrooney@pvcics.org .

For Middle School students (6-8th graders):
  • Middle School co-ed soccer  (Fall)
  • Middle School co-ed cross country (Fall)
  • Middle School boys and girls basketball  (Winter)
  • Middle School co-ed Ultimate Frisbee (Spring)
For High School students:
  • High School boys and girls soccer (Fall)
  • High School co-ed cross country (Fall)
  • High School boys and girls basketball (Winter)
  • High School co-ed Ultimate Frisbee (Spring)

The boys and girls basketball teams are approaching the end of their respective seasons.  The girls team ended their season against Hopkins Academy on February 9th with a tough loss. The girls team was young and played a demanding schedule against other school's JV teams, some which had older, more experienced players.  The girls had some thrilling victories and a few disappointing losses but they never stopped playing hard.  The future looks promising as our players continue to grow as a team and attract more players each year.

The middle school boys team had a vey successful season.  Although the season ended with a loss to an older, more experienced team from Gateway, the team had a win streak heading into that last game featuring wins over Smith Academy, Bement, and Veritas Prep.  Many of the players from this team will be moving up to the JV team next year, so we will be looking for new players from next year's middle school classes.

The JV boys team was a more experienced team and enjoyed a highly successful season.  They are participating in the RVAL B Division tournament.  They are two wins away from a championship in their first year of competition in the RVAL. Good luck to the boys!

Based on the results of sign ups held during January, PVCICS will be forming teams for Ultimate Frisbee at both the middle and high school level.  Registration flyers have been emailed to all PVCICS families in grades 6-12.  Completed registration forms, along with the required participation forms(scroll to the bottom of this page to print out these forms) and a $150 athletic user fee must be submitted in order to participate in a Spring sports program.  Please note that the participation forms are not required if they have been previously submitted for a sport during the current school year.  The registration form and $150 fee is required for each sport played.  The deadline for returning the registration form, participation forms, and user fee is FEBRUARY 27TH.  Practice days for Ultimate will be Wednesdays and Thursdays for middle school and Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for high school teams.  All practices will be held at the Hadley Young Mens Club.  Payers will be transported to all practices and home games by bus; however parents are responsible for pick up from all practices and home games.  Round trip bus transportation will be provided for all away games.  Practice times will run from 4:15pm-6:30pm.  A schedule of games for both MS and HS teams is being developed and will be posted by March 1st on this site.

Due to a lack of sign ups, PVCICS will not have a baseball or softball team this Spring.  However there will be a number of sports-related club activities offered.  Tennis, volleyball, and ping pong clubs will be meeting after school on campus.  There is also a spirit club being formed this Spring to support sports teams throughout the year.  Registration forms for these club activities are available on a table outside the main office.  For more information on club activities, please contact Cathy Zatyrka at czatyrka@pvcics.org.
