Athletic Program

PVCICS offers the following athletic teams for middle and high school students.  Parents must complete the required forms below for their child to 
participate.  For more information, please contact info@pvcics.org or mrooney@pvcics.org .

For Middle School students (6-8th graders):
  • Middle School co-ed soccer  (Fall)
  • Middle School co-ed cross country (Fall)
  • Middle School boys and girls basketball  (Winter)
  • Ski Club (Winter)
  • Middle School co-ed Ultimate Frisbee (Spring)  
  • Middle School baseball (Spring)
  • Middle School softball (Spring)
For High School students:
  • High School boys and girls soccer (Fall)
  • High School co-ed cross country (Fall)
  • High School boys and girls basketball (Winter)  
  • Ski Club (Winter) 
  • High School co-ed Ultimate Frisbee (Spring)


The Winter Sports season is just around the corner.  This year PVCICS will field basketball teams for both boys and girls at the junior varsity level.  These teams are open to players in grades 7-12.  There will also be a Middle School team for players in grades 5-6.  Details for the MiddleSchool team will be forthcoming. Players interested in joining the 7-12 teams should contact PVCICS Athletic Director Mr. Rooney--mrooney@pvcics.org.  Players interested in the 5-6 team should contact PVCICS Activities Director Cathy Zatyrka--czatryka@pvcics.org.  Players who have not participated in a Fall sport will have to complete and return the participation forms along with proof of a current physical exam.  Basketball tryouts/practices for the 7-12 teams begin on November 27th for boys and November 28th for girls. The schedule for practices and games for the boys and girls basketball teams are now posted on this site.  The practice schedule for the 5-6 team will be announced at a later date.

The ski club program will also be offered again this year.  The ski club will make 5 Friday night trips to Berkshire East beginning on January 5th.  PVCICS students in grades 6-12 are eligible to participate in the Friday night program.  there will also be a Family Ski Program offered on Sundays for members of the PVCICS community.  Please contact Cathy Zatyrka, Director of Student Activities and School Operations, for more information on these two programs (czatyrka@pvcics.org).  


The Fall Sports Banquet will be held on Friday December 1, 2017 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Hadley Farms Meeting House, located at 41 Russell Street in Hadley.  Tickets for the banquet are currently on sale.  They can be purchased from the Athletic Director most days during lunch in the 3rd floor hallway or from the main office.  Ticket prices are Adults $15.00 and all PVCICS students and children 16 and under $10.00. PVCICS Fall athletes are admitted free of charge.  Buy your tickets early because seating will be limited.
